High achievers Irwin Mitchell, Leeds recently came first in Yorkshire in ‘Chambers UK: A Client\'s Guide to the Legal Profession’ for Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. Not to be outdone, the Manchester branch has also been ranked amongst the top firms in the North West for Clinical Negligence (claimant), Personal Injury, Family, Debt Recovery and Corporate Crime. The £20 million won for claimants by the clinical negligence department in the past 12 months contributed to the firm’s success, as well as the technical knowledge and skills of the team involved; special mentions went to Stephanie Forman (neonatal death, birth injury, and oncology) and Lesley Herbertson (catastrophic injury and cerebral palsy). As well as this, Elizabeth Tait’s family law department only set up in 2007 was specially recognised, and the debt recovery team came second in the region. Other solicitors who were recognised included Sarah Cleary of the regulatory team (nationally recognised as one of the best solicitors) and Grahame Codd of Personal Injury.
